THE SAMMCO BANK LTD was established in the year 1964, started as a dream by the Founding President, Mr Shame Gowda to give a new lease of life to cooperative societies, as in 1960 around 80% of the already set up Co Operative societies in Shimoga were in trouble.

In the beginning provided services as a co-operative society for Betel Nuts Merchant with only 24 internal and 17 external members. The Honourable Founder President started the bank’s journey as a Promoter.

Completing a Glorious 61 years as on 2025 THE SAMMCO BANK LTD., has come a long way since its induction.

It stands tall with a current operational Transaction of RS. 6455 crores.

It has also come a long way since its inception, providing a wide range of privileged services to its customers, ranging from computerized banking systems for smooth and effective operations.
Various technology-driven modes of transactions like RTGS, NEFT, and e-tax payment, and also the need for the Hour Mobile Banking along with SMS alerts.

THE SAMMCO BANK LTD also takes pride in paying its members a generous dividend of 12% and also stands firmly amongst its Competitors with a PAT of INR 337.18 lacs.

With a member stronghold of 3914 members, the bank has a total share amount of Rs.390,60,300/- at the beginning of this Financial Year.

Founder President- Mr Shame Gowda

Previously president of DCCB Bank in Shimoga and Ex-Member of the Legislative Council. SAMMCO BANK is the execution of his Dream to revolutionise the way Co Operative banks operated and were looked upon by the Customers.

In his tremendous experience of 17 years he has made sure the Bank has no previous lending loans since 25 years of operations.

A great leader and a Visionary he is still is available on Call to attend to the operations of the Bank he says “starting as a promoter in the bank he is happy with the pr ge was of the Bank from small to big”. He also thanks the present director Mr Sathya Narayan who has helped in crossing the memberships from 700 to the present 4117 meeting the requirements of RBI.

Chief Executive Officer—Mr B.R. Chandramouli

Being active and efficient in his post of C E O(formerly General Manager) for the past 22 years, Mr. B. R. Chandramouli has been the constant support for his fellow employees at the bank.
A humble individual and a strategic goal achiever, he sets great standards for the others to follow and is regarded as one of the best managers a bank must have.
